Brianna Slone is an alumna of the University of Georgia where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. During her time at UGA, Ms. Slone studied flute with Angela Jones-Reus and attended masterclasses taught by Marianne Gedigian, Ransom Wilson, Nicole Esposito, Julie Hobbs, Michael Hasel and Katherine Emeneth. While at UGA, Ms. Slone performed regularly with the UGA Symphony Orchestra, Hodgson Wind Ensemble and UGA Wind Symphony. She was a member of the Redcoat band for two seasons, serving on leadership before leaving to accept a position as a visual staff member. Ms. Slone was a recipient of the Charles Patterson Sr. Memorial scholarship, UGA Foundation scholarship and UGA Redcoat Band scholarship.

Ms. Slone had the pleasure of student teaching at Hillgrove this past spring. She worked with the second jazz group, Symphonic I & II bands, Wind Symphony and conducted the Symphonic II band at LGPE. Before student teaching at Hillgrove, Ms. Slone taught students at George Walton Academy, Jefferson high school, McEachern high school and Madison County high school. During the summer, she was an intern for the Cobb County middle school summer band camp, an instructor for the UGA summer music camps and a visual technician for marching bands in the Athens and Cobb area. On the weekends, Ms. Slone teaches private flute lessons in Gwinnett, Walton and Cobb County.
Ms. Slone would like to thank the parents, students, teachers and staff for welcoming her into the Hillgrove band family. Go Hawks!
