Megan Grayburn has been part of the performing arts community since age 3 when she took her first dance class. As a member of the student company at the Georgia Ballet, Megan was trained in ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, and jazz.  She performed in many of the professional company performances such as Nightingale, Carnival of the Animals, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker.

Upon entering high school, Megan was introduced to color guard and was a member of the Kennesaw Mountain High School guard from 2002-2006. In these years, the marching band was named a Bands of America regional champion three times, AAA class champion at Grand Nationals, and a three-time national finalist. The winter guard also made WGI finals each year in Scholastic A, Open, and World, including being awarded the gold medal in A and Open class. The band participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2005 where she performed as a featured dancer.  She was also selected as a dancer in the first Honor Band of America in the Tournament of Roses Parade in 2005.

In addition to high school color guard, Megan was a member of the independent open Top Hats winter guard (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2008, as well as the independent world Paramount winter guard (Atlanta, GA) in 2011 and 2013.

Megan attended Grove City College in western Pennsylvania earning a degree in elementary education. While at Grove City, she was a member of numerous dance groups acting as a dancer and a choreographer.   She was also a member of the college flagline, acting as the rifle choreographer.

In addition to Hillgrove, Megan has previously instructed the color guards at Penn Trafford High School (Harrison City, PA), Woodstock High School (Woodstock, GA), and Kennesaw Mountain High School (Kennesaw, GA). Megan has been a member of the Hillgrove color guard staff since 2012.

Megan has been teaching in Cobb County since 2010 and is currently a 5th grade teacher at Hayes Elementary.
