Hillgrove Wind Symphony a NATIONAL WINNER

In the spring of 2014, the Hillgrove Wind Symphony entered into a national recorded music competition sponsored by the Foundation for Music Education.  The Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors is a competition in which ensembles across the country send in recordings for adjudication by a panel of experts.  This year’s judges were Richard Floyd, Steve Davis, and Anthony Maiello.  Of a total of 224 entries from 35 states, only the top 25% of entries are ...

As part of the fundraising effort for new uniforms, Hillgrove Bands are making current marching shako hats, plumes, jackets and gauntlet sets available for sale to current students, then to alumni.

Current marching band students and families have until April 30, 2014 to purchase their currently-assigned items.

Alumni marching band students and families will have an opportunity to  purchase items as of May 1, 2014 until May 31, 2014.

China opens doors to Hillgrove

The Hillgrove bands and orchestra have been given the high honor of conducting a 12-day concert tour in the spring of 2016 in the People’s Republic of China.

Students will have the privilege to perform at venues in Beijing and Shanghai, including Beijing University, during their tour. They will also have the opportunity to spend a day at a Chinese high school.

Hillgrove is the first Georgia high school music ensemble to make this trip. The University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band ...
