HUSTLE Award Criteria
Hustle Award recipients embody the 5 core values of the band program: Humility, Scholarship, Trust, Leadership, and Excellence. Students winning this award will be awarded a HUSTLE Medallion at the end of year band banquet. To be considered for the HUSTLE award, students must meet the following criteria:
HUMILITY
Students must show evidence of selfless service in school, community, etc… Any type of volunteer service hours may be reported for this portion of the award.
SCHOLARSHIP
Award winners must post a minimum 3.5 weighted GPA.
TRUST
Each student’s trustworthiness will be evaluated by 4 peers and 1 teacher.
LEADERSHIP
The student must have participated in Mr Erwin’s after school leadership course, or an acceptable substitute.
EXCELLENCE
The student must complete the following objectives:

Must take private lessons during the course of the school year.

Must audition for district honor band/all state.

Must perform an approved SOLO at Solo and Ensemble Festival (see application for COVID-19 adjustments)
