POWDER SPRINGS – The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has selected three seniors from Hillgrove High School to join the ranks of the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.

Brothers Michael and Dennis Korwek (clarinet, mellophone) and Sam May (trumpet) will join over 120 band and colorguard members from across the country to play in the halftime show during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Nearly 1,100 students were nominated by high school band directors across the United States, followed by a difficult audition process initiated during their junior year. Chosen students are rewarded with a week-long, all-expenses paid trip to San Antonio, TX and will participate during the nationally-televised football game on January 5, 2013 in the Alamodome.

A local U.S. Army representative will join classmates, family and media for a special ceremony to recognize these All-Americans on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:45 a.m. in the Joseph B. Boland Theater of Hillgrove High School. The school is located at 4165 Luther Ward Road in Powder Springs.
